FinchCoast-O
Friday, 21 August 2009
This years FinchCoast-O will be held on Thursday 3rd September at Bramshill Plantation at 7:00pm.  There will be nibbles and prizes in the bar afterwards at the Sports and Social Club. For those of you that haven’t done a FinchCoast-O before it’s a simple orienteering course where you are given a map and then collect a number of checkpoints as quickly as you can before returning to the start to mull over your navigation with everyone else.  It’s really not too taxing and I would encourage everyone to have a go as a change from the regular Thursday night run.  If you want to run in a pair or larger group then that’s fine. There will be two courses, a short course with slightly easy navigation and a medium with tougher navigation.  Neither course should take more than an hour for anyone and probably closer to 45mins.We will meet at Bramshill at about 7pm, I’ll do a quick briefing and then get everyone started as soon as possible.   The start is near the carpark at Bramshill Plantation - North side of road through Bramshill Forest.  At the arrow on the map here: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X=475995&Y=161325&A=Y&Z=120 Directions from the club below (it’s only a 5min drive). If you want to come along please let Simon Horton know so that there are enough maps.  Directions From Finchampstead Sports and Social ClubLeave the club carpark and turn right towards the Tally Ho pub.At the Tally Ho, turn left onto the A327 towards Hartley Wintney. After 800m or so take the first right towards Lower Common.Stay on this road as it bears left, then at the end turn right onto Bramshill Road. The carpark is on the right after about 600m.
